Supporting Local Businesses
Because Sirois Tool provides critical tooling and gages to medical manufacturers, we take our role in the current crisis very seriously. We are fortunate to be able to keep operating, and we are so grateful to our workforce for showing great flexibility and being willing to do whatever is needed to help. Like most employees at manufacturing companies during this difficult time, they have often been asked to do more than their fair share, and we are indebted to them.
Many companies, unfortunately, are not in the same position right now—and they are struggling. There have been a lot of cutbacks, with small local restaurants being among the hardest hit.
We’ve been thinking a lot about that. We wanted to show our employees how much we appreciate their hard work, and we also wanted to help other area businesses at the same time. So we’ve decided to institute “Free Lunch Friday,” providing lunch for our team from our great local eateries. So far, we’ve gotten lunch from The Whey Station Food truck, part of The Whey Station(ary) Restaurant in Middletown, and also Tavern on the Trax in Berlin.
We’ll be featuring our “Restaurant of the Week” on our LinkedIn page each week, so keep an eye out for that.
We’d like to encourage other manufacturers who are up and running to institute a similar program. It isn’t a huge effort, but it can really help small restaurants during a tough time. And, of course, it’s a nice thing to do for workers who are going above and beyond when they are needed the most. Let’s keep looking out for each other!
